queenofattolia for the all the awesome suggestions re. my peanut butter cookie conundrum! unfortunately, i apparently resembled julia roberts in pretty woman, and the local restaurant supply would not let me shop in their store. i was able, however, to buy a brand new shiny half cookie sheet from smart and final. i did not go back to the restaurant supply to gloat.
guess who will be making peanut butter cookies this evening, precious?

peanut butter cookies, part deux
Dec. 29th, 2005 12:14 pmtried cookies again and well... they came out better than the last batch, but still not as soft and chewy as i remember them. changing the peanut butter helped, definitely, but the bottoms are still too brown. perhaps adding vanilla ice cream will help the situation. :)

Dec. 28th, 2005 10:52 pmi don't know what i did, but instead of my gloriously yummy peanut butter cookies, i instead created 2 dz peanut butter hockey pucks. i have a feeling that my new cookie sheet is to blame; over half of the cookies were completely burnt on the bottom! or perhaps i didn't make them big enough? that is also a possibility.
i planned onscoring points consulting with my grandma this weekend, but mom's advice actually helped quite a bit (i forgot that cookies do not go on the bottom rack). will be trying recipe again tonight because dammit my grade in chemistry was better than this! mrs. pavlich, i will not let you down!
